Winter on the Farm

Farm is in full swing… Into the winter, we are making new planting areas, composting, crafting and harvesting!

This weeks agenda:

  • Established cuttings as a natural fence line with a bramble of tree twigs creating a natural barrier wildlife deterrent.

  • Opening the wheat field, buckwheat field, wildflower prairie to run back to the north east through the canopy. Evening sun shines right on through to the late evening hours, even in Winter. The broken sunlight muddled by the trees above provide just enough coolness, along with the cool summer night breeze of the southernly winds… [I Remember one time I saw a whole mountain side of galloping horses in the wheat field].

  • Working Osage Orange Tree in the future site of the EarthShip. Harvesting woof for Carvings, Contstruction and Crafting along the way. Keeping a keep eye for some Bow Wood.. Maybe even some Arrow wood out of it, but that was just a thought so far…

  • Pallet wood for Kids Clubhouse above the Wheat Farm, with Wood Burning Soaking Tub Underneath. Simultaneous use for fire when not soaking as a heater for the Clubhouse.

  • Carvings like First Healing Stick Started- Practiced Yoga with stick, where hand holds laid- they were traced, and built with Intention of Healing, as it was practiced and design in a healing practice. Designed with Spiral Integration and leaves to honor its essence.
